New Orleans NW

One of the biggest advantages of living in the city, I think, is that there is very rarely a lack of action. Walking back from dinner two Saturdays ago, I stumbled upon a full-fledged jazz band, a group of more than 10 musicians treating F Street as if it was Rue Bourbon. Sans camera but only a block from home, I knew that the opportunity was too good to pass up.

It's always fun to hear bucket drummers around the Verizon Center, but very rarely do we see this kind of complete performance. Not sure if it was spontaneous, if it was part of Howard University's homecoming (as I heard a passerby say) or what, but it was certainly awesome.
