New Years in Philadelphia

When we first decided to spend New Years Eve and the next two days in Philadelphia, I had grand plans in my mind to take a bunch of photos of downtown, South Street, etc.

Waking up on January 1st with a gigantic hangover, however, meant those plans were destined to change. We walked around, grabbed brunch and took in the Mummers Parade, but it was somewhat on a whim and I decided just before we left not to take my camera.

I don't like the term "bokeh," but I suppose that below is a pretty good example of the photographic style. It's essentially the same picture as above, yet focused very differently. I'm not really sure why, but I really like it...
