Miles Midnight promo shots

One of the first times I took pictures at a show -- more than just pointing and shooting from the middle of the crowd, anyway -- was when Kenin played the 9:30 Club back in December of 2005. I was using a Canon Powershot SD400 and, despite the limited settings, ended up getting a few very cool shots (the first ones below).

You might say this sparked my passion for shooting live music. You might also say (and this would be more true) that those few pictures I took ultimately led to a slew of other opportunities, both for Kenin and for a few other bands.

Unfortunately, Kenin is no longer -- they broke up a few months later for various reasons -- but their lead singer is now involved in a new project called Miles Midnight. In need of some pictures for their promo materials, the trio contacted me and asked if I would sit down with them in the middle of January.

Below are a few of the shots I took that the band is currently using for some posters, flyers and websites. If you'd like to check out their music, they can be found on both MySpace and Facebook.

They're legitimate flight suits... I think he said he saw them at a thrift store and couldn't resist picking them up.
