A beautiful Sunday in our Nation's capital

While seemingly everyone and their uncle were making their way down to the National Mall for the Cherry Blossom Festival, my dog and I took a nice long walk to Eastern Market. With the borderline-perfect weather we had this weekend -- the only downfall being Saturday's crazy wind -- it was damn near impossible not to enjoy being alive in DC.

The first shot below is a typical Eastern Market scene, while the second is a little less standard. For some reason, I really liked the contrasting colors in both these shots, even though they're quite different.

Is it me, or is this statue in front of the Shakespeare Library just a little bit creepy?
