Ben Harper & Relentless7 at the 9:30 Club

I have to admit, I've been a bit spoiled my last few times out to the 9:30 Club. Since most of the shows were sold-out affairs, there always existed a barricade in front of the stage, which meant I was able to arrive whenever I wanted and had plenty of room (relatively, at least) to move back and forth for the first few songs.

Despite last night's capacity crowd, I showed up to find out that my lucky streak had come to an end. There was no barricade, which meant fending for myself and doing my best to get some decent shots. Rather than be "that guy" and push my way towards the front, I did something I don't typically do -- I roamed the crowd, trying to capture a different perspective of what was another solid show.

I've seen Ben Harper 5 or 6 times, but all of them were with his previous band (the Innocent Criminals). He is now backed by a group known as Relentless7, and while I wasn't familiar with any of the new tunes, they still rocked just as hard. Harper is one of the better musicians I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live, and I highly suggest checking him and his band out if you ever get the chance.

Great pics Marty. Saw BH in Atlanta last year and it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
